To access the desired function, please navigate through the following steps:
- Navigate to the side menu icon in the upper left-hand corner.
- Then select "Production," from the menu options.
- Within the "Production" section, locate and click on "Fermentation."
- Finally, initiate a new operation by selecting the option labeled, "New Fermentation.”
Step 1:
-
- Enter the date/time of the transaction
- Select the desired Mash Bill (to create new mash bills, see Mash Bill Setup)
- The Total Batch Size will autofill based on the mash bill that was chosen.
- Users can use the toggle to the right to choose gallons or liters as your unit of measure
- Enter the starting gravity in Specific Gravity (SG) or Brix.
- If starting gravity is entered, you will see potential Proof Gallons and potential Proof on your fermentation log.
- Enter the Lot Name for this batch
- Cook Number is a rolling number.
- The value will increase each time a new cook is entered.
- Under Fermenter(s) To Fill, users will choose which fermenters they plan on filling with their new cook/wash.
- By default, Whiskey Systems will divide the total batch volume evenly across the fermenters. If you wish to override this, enter your actual volumes in the appropriate volume field to the right of each fermenter.
- If tracking, enter the number of Labor Hours for this cook. (Pro Only)
- If using, click the Advanced/Starting Observations button and fill out the additional data fields as desired. (Pro Only)
- When ready, click Create to advance to the next page.
Step 2: Confirm the amount of materials to be added to the cook:
-
- If inventory is too low, the Units Consumed will be highlighted in red. Users may edit the units as needed or click Enter Receipt toward the top of the page to receive additional inventory.
- Please note that while you may continue with low inventory levels, you may negatively impact batch valuations moving forward.
- For any materials consumed that were not included in the original Mash Bill, select the material from the Add Select as Additional Material dropdown list.
- When finished, click Confirm.
You will be redirected to the Fermentation Log page, where you may observe all current and past fermentations.
