Each spirit users produce in Whiskey Systems must have a Recipe. As soon as users create an Internal Spirit Type the system will automatically create a Default Recipe to accompany the IST. Whiskey Systems Recipes will allow users to include both Raw Material and Spirit usage required to process their final products.
To set up a Whiskey Systems Recipe:
Navigate to Settings > Things You Make > Recipes
Locate the Default Recipe Name in need of set up, and select the Edit option to the right:

On the Edit Recipe form, complete the following:
- TTB Formula #: enter the approved Formula # in this field.
- TTB Application Date: enter the date the Formula was applied for.
- TTB Approval Date: enter the date of Formula approval. If the Formula has been applied for but is awaiting approval, users may leave this field blank until the approval date is known.

- Recipe Name is already designated by Whiskey Systems and cannot be Edited.
- Enter the Standard Batch Size this Recipe is adjusted for. Ex: if inclusion of all Recipe Materials + Base Spirits results in a Batch Size of 1000 Gallons, enter this amount.
- The Becomes Internal Spirit Type field should already be completed; since Whiskey Systems makes a Default Recipe upon creation of Internal Spirit Types the associated IST is already connected.
- Sort Order allows users to indicate the place in their WS Recipe List this Recipe should fall; if used very often, "1" is recommended.
Using Base Spirit:
- Users with Recipes including blended Spirit can indicate which Internal Spirit Types will be used in the Recipe's blend in the Base Spirit options.
- For example: if Sourced NGS is used to produce Vodka, users should attach their NGS Internal Spirit Type to a Vodka Recipe along with the standard amount of spirit used in the blend/Recipe.
- Users can include up to 10 Base Spirits in a Whiskey Systems Recipe
Note: Base Spirits must be set up within a Recipe to allow WS's Batching Run function to transition one Internal Spirit Type into another upon application of the Recipe.

Using Ingredients:
- Select "+ Add New" to attach Blending Raw Material ingredients which will later get consumed in a WS Batching Run.
- To create a New Mash Bill to be used in Cooks, review this resource: Mash Bill Setup (Read Time: 2 mins).
- Designate the number of Units used in a standard Batch (do not type the Unit of Measure or include other alphabetical characters in this field):

Note: Users can change/update the Units In Batch after updating, as long as the Unit update still matches the user's approved Formula details.
