Introduction:
During your initial implementation of Whiskey Systems, you may need to enter any active batches or tanks of spirit as part of your starting inventory. This helps ensure accurate reporting moving forward.
Note: Before entering starting data into Whiskey Systems, make sure you've taken a recent physical inventory of your tanks and spirits throughout your bonded premises.
Prerequisites:
- You must have all of your tanks set up in Whiskey Systems before entering starting inventory. For more information, see Tank Setup (Read Time: 2 mins).
- You must have Internal Spirit Types created for any active batches/tanks of spirit in your bonded premises. For more information, see Internal Spirit Type Setup (Read Time: 2 mins)
- You must have selected your Start Month in Settings > Start Here > DSP Settings and Info > Your DSP. Start Month is the first month of reporting - any starting data entered will be entered as the Beginning of Start Month inventory.
Enter starting tank inventory:
- Using the navigation menu, go to Settings.
- Navigate to Starting Inventory > Starting Tanks.
- The Starting Tank Inventory table will display all available tanks in your system in the leftmost column. Working from left to right, top to bottom:
- Select the Internal Spirit Type
- Enter the spirit's concentration in Proof or ABV.
- Enter the total Proof Gallons (PG) or Litres of Absolute Alcohol (LAA).
- Enter the Account where the spirit currently exists (Production, Storage, or ProcessingBulk).
- Enter the Sub-Type (Hearts/Finished, Low Wines, Feints, Heads, or Tails).
- Enter the dollar ($) value of the batch.
- Move onto the next tank in the list.
- Click Save.
Note: Once your starting inventory has been set, any modifications to a tank's contents will need to be made to individual tanks.
