» For a video on Managing Users, review the following resource: Manage Users (Video)
Users with Admin privileges can manage the users who have access to the system. This includes the ability to add new users, change existing user roles, adjust permissions, or delete users. Password resets should be handled through the Login page by the user who forgot it.
Navigate to: Menu > Administrator > Manage Users
A list of users assigned to the distillery will be displayed.
Create, Edit User Roles, Delete Users, and Set User Permissions from this page:
- Add New User - Use this link to create another user for the distillery; this requires an email address and password. The password must be 6 or more characters long, contain at least one uppercase and one lower case letter, one number, and one special character. While creating a user, choose a suite of default permissions: Distillery Admin, Sales Only, or User.
- Edit - Change a user's role, which corresponds to a pre-built set of Permissions.
- Delete - Remove a user's access to Whiskey Systems.
- Permissions - Assign specific (granular) permissions to control user access to Whiskey Systems on a page-by-page and function-by-function basis; permissions defined here override roles.
FAQ:
A user is no longer working at the distillery. How do remove their access to Whiskey Systems?
Any user marked as an Admin can edit or delete another user's login. Click on Setup - Manage Users. Admins can Edit (to change role between Admin, User, and Sales) or Delete any user's account, as well as adjusting permissions if desired. If a user is deleted, they can no longer log into Whiskey Systems. However, their transaction history will remain.
How do I create a new user for my distillery? What is the difference between Admin versus non-Admin?
If you are an Admin for your Distillery, navigate to Menu > Administrator > Manage Users and you can create, edit, and delete users with access to login to your distillery. Usernames must be valid email addresses. When you create a New User, they will get an email with a link to confirm their email address which will allow them to Reset their password using the "Forgot Password" Link on the login page. Make sure you check your Junk/Spam folders for the email. Non-Admins do not have access to the the Manage Users page.
