When setting up a new Whiskey Systems account, the system will require you to complete certain sections before you can proceed to others. The Settings area is designed for users to work top-to-bottom, starting with the DSP Settings and Info section.
Each item in the Settings menu has an icon next to it which summarizes its current state, in terms of the data prerequisite flow:

Step 1: DSP Settings and Info
Your DSP Tab Requirements:
- Name of Proprietor
- Business Address 1
- Business City
- Business State
- Business Zip Code
Tax Settings Tab Requirements:
License Settings
- DSP Number (US systems only)
- International Systems: Warehouse or Spirits Account
- Date Received
- EIN
Tax Forms Settings
- Tax Payment
Step 2: Definitions
- Raw Materials: requires the DSP Settings and Info requirements detailed above to be complete before allowing users to add a new Raw Material.
- Internal Spirit Types: also requires the DSP Settings and Info requirements, detailed above, to be completed.
Step 3: Things You Make
- Mash Bills: requires at least one Internal Spirit Type & Raw Material classified as "Fermentable".
- Recipes: requires at least one Internal Spirit Type.
- Product Line: requires the DSP Settings and Info requirements, detailed above, to be completed.
- Product Masters: requires at least one Recipe & Raw Material classified as “Packaging”.
- Mixed Product Masters: requires at least one Product Master.
Step 4: Vessels and Warehouses
- Fermenters: requires at least one Mash Bill.
- Tanks: requires at least one Internal Spirit Type.
- Warehouses: requires at least one Internal Spirit Type & Raw Material classified as a “Barrel”.
Step 5: Associations
- Vendors: Raw Materials must be attached to Vendors within the Pricing Command for users to work Purchase Orders in Whiskey Systems. See this article for a how-to on attaching Raw Materials to Vendors: Vendor Setup (Read Time: 2 mins).
- Customers: requires at least one Product Master.
- DSPs: requires at least one Internal Spirit Type.
- Owners: requires the DSP Settings and Info requirements, detailed above, to be completed.
- Linked DSPs: Required at least one Internal Spirit Types and a DSP entered.
Step 6: Starting Inventory
- Starting Tanks and Products: requires at least one Tank or Product Master, and requires at least one Internal Spirit Type.
- Starting Raw Materials: requires Raw Materials.
- Onsite Barrels: requires Internal Spirit Types & Raw Material classified as a “Barrel”.
- Offsite Barrels: requires Internal Spirit Types, DSPs, and Warehouses.
