In Whiskey Systems, Tanks are used for any/all vessels that contain spirits (or blending wine).
Barrels in Storage are tracked separately - there is no need to add barrels to your Tank list.
Exception: If you have Barrels in Processing (uncommon), then those barrels should be added as Tanks.
Fermenters & Mash Tuns should be added as Fermenters - see Fermenter Setup (Read Time: 2 mins) for more information.
If you have a vessel which is used for both Ferments and Spirits, you must add it to both your Tanks list and your Fermenter list.
Navigate to: Menu > Settings > Tanks (under Vessels)
Add New Tank
Click the “+ Add New Tank” button:
- Tank Name:
Each Tank should have a unique name. - Serial #, TTB/DSP Registered #: Enter the serial number of the tank
- If in the US, use the tank serial number shown on your DSP Permit
- For portable tanks (totes, drums, etc) which do not appear on your TTB permit, you may leave this field blank
- Capacity: Enter the tank capacity in either wine gallons or liters.
- Tare Weight: Enter a tare weight if it is known.
- Tank Owner: Use this option only for a tank dedicated to contract storage of spirits for another party. Otherwise, leave it blank or choose your own DSP as the owner.
