By default, all Whiskey Systems instances are created with a single inventory warehouse to represent the licensed premise, where raw materials are consumed for mashes, batching, and bottling. WS users may add additional warehouses to represent additional storage facilities or to further delineate storage.
Warehouse Limitations
- Raw Materials may only be consumed in batches and bottling if they are located in the Default warehouse (licensed premise).
- Raw materials may be received, transferred to, and sold from alternate warehouses, but may not be used in normal distillery operating activities unless they are first transferred to the Default warehouse.
Create a warehouse
- Navigate to Settings
- Find and click Warehouses, located under "Storage Locations"
- Click Add New Warehouse at the top right
- Enter the required details
- The Name will be shown when specifying the location for transfers, sales, receipts, etc.
- Tax Paid refers to the excise status of the warehouse
- If the warehouse is within the licensed premise and under bond (or otherwise tax exempt) do not check Tax Paid
- If the warehouse is offsite, or holds bottled spirit on which excise has already been paid, check Tax Paid
- The tax status of a warehouse can be changed only if no active inventory or transactions are associated with the warehouse.
- Click Submit to save
